For us, simple city dwellers, the summer is annually saddened by switching-off of hot water. How many inconveniences it brings. You know, and if  you have  small children  it is difficult to be without hot water.

Therefore the purpose of given article  is  to help you to understand the water-heating equipment which will allow to solve all above-stated problems.

Tank volume an electric memory water heater

The volume of a tank of a boiler is desirable for counting, so that hot water quite sufficed for all needs, it is possible even with a small stock. On the other hand, too big water heater also will cost expensively, and considerably will raise payment for the electric power. And the physical sizes of a tank very often limit a choice for placing of a bulky boiler in the conditions of standard apartment.

If to use water only at dish washing the water heater with volume of a tank of 10 l quite will be enough. But in the majority of cases we get a boiler in order to take a shower or a bath. Most of all, certainly, it is required waters for a bathroom. For a family from three-four persons it is required water boiler in volume of 50-80 liters. If in a family of four and more persons - that requirements to volume are already  higher  and then the boiler volume should be above 80 liters. 

The definitive choice of a boiler should be made, proceeding from the requirements. For example, at condition of an economical expenditure of water, especially for a bath and a shower, a family consisting of four persons it is enough to have a boiler of 1oo liters. The big size of a tank makes sense only in those separate cases when hot water is necessary the whole day long and in considerable quantities. Otherwise surplus of a water-supply simply won't justify the means enclosed in a water heater.

Capacity of a water heater

Time of heating the water in a boiler will depend in many respects on capacity of a heating element. And the difference in heating time in boilers with equal volume of a tank can be enough considerable. So, for example, for boilers with volume of a tank of 80 liters at capacity of 1,5 kw and 2 kw time in order to heat up water from 15 to 65 degrees it is required around 4 and 3 hours accordingly. 

Boiler: comfort and safety

There are still some details in the device of the memory water heaters, which directly not influencing on heating, but defining the convenience and safety of using a boiler. 

First of all, it is the thermostat. It carries out the control of temperature of heating of water. For safety it is desirable, that in a boiler except the core the additional thermostat has been established.

The maximum temperature of heating basically isn't so important. All boilers provide heating of water to level of 60-65 degrees – it is quite enough. The additional comfort on some models of water heaters provides only the water temperature gage. Also don't forget: for prevention of development of bacteria in water it is periodically necessary to heat up water to the maximum temperature!

The water heater tank should save up heat, naturally, for this purpose it should have a good heat-insulation layer. Generally, the majority of modern boilers is quite comprehensible cope with this problem, water in a tank cools down on the average only on 5-7 degrees for days. The boiler tank is arranged by a thermos principle, therefore,  so the more there will be tank walls on a thickness, the better.
